We carry on a Tradition started by my parents of eating home made Hot Cross Buns on Good Friday. As Good Friday is a day of fast, this is all we eat, but it makes a very tasty meal after a long day at Church.
We use a basic Raisin Loaf recipe in the bread machine using the raisin dough setting, let it rise, apply the flour-water-sugar crosses and bake. A glaze is applied as they are taken out of the oven and served hot, split and spread with butter.
